Ranking Member Phil Roe To Join Rep. Jim Banks at Allen County March for Life

Statement

Rep. Jim Banks (IN-03) today announced that the Ranking Member of the House Veteran's Affairs Committee Dr. Phil Roe will join him at Allen County Right to Life's 46th Annual Rally and March for Life in Fort Wayne on Saturday, January 18, 2020.

The rally will take place at the University of Saint Francis Performing Arts Auditorium. The rally will begin shortly before noon. The march will take place after the rally.

Before serving in Congress, Dr. Phil Roe worked as an obstetrician and delivered nearly 5,000 babies. He is a member of the Congressional Pro-Life Caucus and is known in Washington as a strong and constant voice for the right to life.

"Dr. Roe is widely recognized for his tireless efforts to protect the unborn during his tenure in Washington. I am honored to have him join me as my guest Saturday," said Rep. Jim Banks. "The March for Life is one of the most important events I attend each year, and I look forward to joining 2,500 other pro-life Hoosiers in speaking out to protect the lives of the voiceless."

Both Reps. Banks and Roe co-sponsor the Born-Alive Survivors Protection Act, which would require physicians to perform the necessary medical care for children who survive an abortion. Both are also co-sponsors of the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act that would prohibit abortions from being performed on any unborn child at the point in which fetuses begin to feel pain. Finally, both members of Congress co-sponsor the No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion and Abortion Insurance Full Disclosure Act that prohibits government funding for abortion.
