Congressman Anthony Brown Presides Over the Passage of the Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security Act

Statement

Date: March 27, 2020
Location: Washington, DC

Congressman Anthony G. Brown (MD-04) presided over the House of Representatives as speaker pro tempore, during the debate and final passage of the $2 trillion Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security (Act). The following statement can be attributed to Congressman Brown:

"It was an absolute privilege and honor to preside over today's historic debate and vote. Members and leaders on both sides of the aisle illustrated just what can be accomplished when we put partisan fights aside and deliver for the American people.

This is just the beginning of our work to combat this virus and restore our economy. I trust that Congress will be equally committed to addressing the pending relief that our country will no doubt require in the weeks ahead. The America I know will rise to this challenge, and overcome it."
