The amount of student debt in this country is criminal. Charles and his wife Tanesha join millions of Americans in being weighed down by impossible student debt, and he is committed to make sure that one's zip code or income level is no longer a barrier to advancing their education. By balancing the budgets of higher education on the backs of our students, we are exacerbating income inequality: wealthy families can send their children to college to earn professional degrees, while students from middle class families are weighed down by debt as they start their careers and college is increasingly unattainable for low-income families.

Charles supports student loan forgiveness, and believes that a bachelor's degree at a public university should be free to Americans in the same way that K-12 public education is free.
