U.S. Congressman Greg Pence (IN-06) announced today the U.S.--Mexico--Canada (USMCA) trade deal officially going into effect and replacing the outdated North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA). Pence released the following statement:

"President Trump promised to put American farmers and manufacturers first. Today, with the USMCA's entry into force, we see that promise victoriously upheld," said Congressman Pence. "This historic trade agreement is crucial for Indiana's Sixth District and for Americans across this nation. This modernized trade agreement brings good-paying jobs to Americans and ensures our trade partners uphold fair practices. I thank the Trump Administration for their tireless work to see this monumental trade agreement come to fruition."

Pence has long called for doing the People's work by passing USMCA. He joined 159 of his Republican colleagues, led by Agriculture Committee Ranking Member Michael Conaway, this congress to urge Speaker Pelosi to immediately put the USMCA on the House floor for a vote.

He again stood up on behalf of American farmers and manufacturers in a letter to Speaker Pelosi with his colleagues on the House Foreign Affairs Committee urging her to put aside the partisan impeachment sham impeding the work of the American people.

In January, Pence applauded the Administration for signing the trade deal and keeping the President's promise to American farmers and manufacturers.
