Issue Position: Jobs and Recovery

Issue Position

We need leaders with experience in facing challenges. As a county commissioner, Amy is fighting to keep her constituents safe from the coronavirus, connecting healthcare providers and first responders with PPE (personal protective equipment) and making sure that we are doing everything we can to protect the vulnerable. She is working hard not only to address the difficult financial crisis that the coronavirus shutdown created, but also to plan and anticipate a possible second wave of the virus. Having spoken with many constituents, Amy understands that the necessary steps taken to slow the spread of the coronavirus have placed an unbearable economic burden on North Carolina families, workers, and small businesses. Amy has been a leader in advocating to use the CARES Act funds to plan for a possible second wave of the virus, recognize with hazard pay the risk and sacrifices taken by first responders, and offer grants and loans for small businesses and nonprofits. She is working hard to reopen and restore our hard-hit small businesses. She will continue that critical work for our community in the State Senate.
