Senator Royce West tonight issued the following statement on the strikes against the United States by Iran:

I unequivocally condemn Iran's actions tonight in striking our bases in Iraq.

It is imperative that President Trump consult with Congress as our nation moves forward in this new era of relations with Iran. The Congress, and Senate especially, must be consulted.

Our national security and peace in the region must be paramount considerations moving forward.
