Issue Position

I believe in quality public education, and I will oppose any efforts to create vouchers or charter schools in Nebraska. Public dollars should be used for public education, and we have to give our students and our teachers the resources they need. This means not only increasing state aid to public schools, but making sure that we keep our promises to teachers who have seen their pensions put at risk by the mismanagement and neglect of elected leaders. I am proud to have the endorsement of the Nebraska State Education Association, representing Nebraska's teachers and the Service Employees International Union, representing support staff and paraprofessionals.
