Issue Position

The state of Nebraska is facing an affordable housing crisis, also many residents of District 11 are primarily renters. As your state senator, it will be my duty to transform and establish affordable housing standards in District 11 by creating a statewide rental standard. I will also work to increase home-ownership in District 11 through home-ownership programs and education. I will also establish a more comprehensive penalization for slumlords, owners of vacant lots, and dilapidated homes.​ Our community is also in need of public housing redevelopment standards to ensure that future public housing redevelopments don't displace residents. We must also restrict the need for landlords and property management companies to ask if someone has been convicted of a felony. Lastly, our state and federal government need to work together to establish ​re-entry vouchers for returning citizens​.
