District 11 isn't without its environmental issues like many communities of color across the country. When it comes to the environment District 11 continues to get the short end of the stick. Nebraska is one of twelve states that is not generating our energy from renewable sources like wind and solar. This is not just an environmental issue, it's an economic issue, the lack of investment into renewable energy sources is equivalent to rejecting free money. Environmental issues have plagued District 11 especially asthma and it's time to put an end to it. As your state senator, I will prioritize our kids and the environment. By working with local and national environmental groups to establish a community solar program that is without barriers such as capital. Lastly, We will also make sure OPPD shuts down its coal-fired power plant promptly. Our country is in a climate crisis and as your state senator, I will work to tirelessly to protect you, our kids, and our environment.
