Cortez Masto Cosponsors Legislation to Support Nevada's Small and Mid-Sized Businesses

Press Release

Date: July 28, 2020
Location: Washington, DC

U.S. Senator Catherine Cortez Masto (D-Nev.) joined U.S. Senators Todd Young (R-Ind.) and Michael Bennet (D-Colo.) in cosponsoring the Reviving the Economy Sustainably Towards a Recovery in Twenty-twenty (RESTART) Act. The Senators, along with 32 of their colleagues are working to ensure it is included in the next phase of coronavirus relief to help provide a lifeline for the hardest-hit small and mid-sized businesses.

"The need for additional federal aid to help small and mid-sized businesses rebound from the coronavirus pandemic is critical, which is why I'm proud to cosponsor the RESTART Act. This bill would provide small and mid-sized businesses with low-interest loans to cover 6-months of payroll, benefits and fixed operating expenses, and offers flexible terms for forgiveness based on how hard their businesses have been hit. This bipartisan effort would benefit many Nevadans, and I will continue to do everything in my power to help Nevada's businesses recover from this pandemic."
