Boyle Co-Leads Bicameral Effort for Bold Economic Renewal

Press Release

Date: Sept. 10, 2020
Location: Philadelphia, PA

PHILADELPHIA, PA -- Today, Congressman Brendan F. Boyle (PA-02) co-introduced the Transform, Heal, and Renew by Investing in a Vibrant Economy (THRIVE) agenda--a bold economic renewal resolution. He joins Senators Chuck Schumer, Ed Markey, Cory Booker, and Elizabeth Warren and Representatives Deb Haaland, Debbie Dingell, Donald McEachin, Sheila Jackson Lee, Raul Grijalva, Rosa DeLauro, Barbara Lee, Ilhan Omar, and Ro Khanna in introducing the resolution.

"To recover from this ongoing pandemic and the gravity of this moment where we face overlapping crises, we need a bold and expansive plan," said Congressman Boyle. "That's why I'm proud to join my colleagues in introducing the THRIVE Agenda because we need comprehensive solutions that address the root of the problems at hand. As we battle a climate crisis during a global pandemic that further exacerbated racial injustice and unemployment rates, we have to act with a plan that puts millions of people back to work with high wage union jobs while building a more just, healthy, and equitable society."

The THRIVE Agenda prioritizes families and communities by laying out a roadmap to create nearly 16 million good paying jobs, revive our economy, and address the emerging crises of climate change, racial injustice, public health, and economic inequity. THRIVE is backed by coalition of grassroots groups, labor unions, and community leaders across the nation.
