Rosen Applauds Over $5.1 Million FTA Grant Awarded to Tahoe Transportation District for COVID-19 Relief

Today, U.S. Senator Jacky Rosen (D-NV), a member of the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation, released the following statement applauding news that the Tahoe Transportation District (TTD) has received grant funding from the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) totaling $5,154,624. This grant funding will allow the Tahoe Transportation District to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic.

"Many of Nevada's key industries, like the Tahoe Transportation District, have been forced to adapt in order to safely remain in operation during the coronavirus pandemic," said Senator Rosen. "This grant funding will help to support this critical Nevada transportation infrastructure by allowing the District to conduct much-needed maintenance and provide protection barriers to ensure the safety of drivers and passengers. I will continue working in Congress to see that our state receives its fair share of federal funding during this pandemic."

BACKGROUND: This grant funding was made available through the bipartisan Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act, which Senator Rosen voted in support of, and was signed into law on March 27, 2020.

The Tahoe Transportation District is responsible for facilitating and implementing safe, environmentally positive, multi-modal transportation plans, programs and projects for the Lake Tahoe Basin, including transit operations.
