McSally Applauds Confirmation of Judge Hinderaker to the District of Arizona

Statement

Date: Sept. 23, 2020
Issues: Judicial Branch

U.S. Senator Martha McSally (R-AZ) on Wednesday issued the following statement regarding the confirmation of Judge John Hinderaker to serve as a U.S. district judge for the District of Arizona.

"With the confirmation of Judge John Hinderaker, the Senate is now one step closer to eliminating our state's judicial emergencies," McSally said. "Today's confirmation will also ease Arizona's judicial shortage, which has burdened our federal judges with heavy caseloads that hinder their ability to effectively do their jobs. This judgeship in Tucson will be critical in maintaining the nation's security and safety at Arizona's southern border. Judge Hinderaker is a well-respected member of the Tucson legal community with many years of experience and I was pleased to see him confirmed with strong bipartisan support. Most notably, I am glad to see that even in an election year, the Senate can work together across the aisle to fill this critical vacancy."
