Dear Acting Director Pham,

I am writing to request that your agency continue to keep my office apprised of any and all
investigations and subsequent reports regarding the troubling accusations of medical neglect and
alleged questionable rate of hysterectomies of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE)
detainees housed at the Irwin County Detention Center (ICDC). I understand that the Department
of Homeland Security (DHS) has opened an investigation following the recent whistleblower
complaint filed by a nurse at the ICDC. The Committee on Oversight and Reform is the
principal oversight committee of the House of Representatives, and as the Ranking Member of
the Subcommittee on Civil Rights and Civil Liberties, I appreciate your agency's continued
responsiveness and attention to this matter. I trust that the Inspector General will conduct a
thorough investigation of the facts and I will await the conclusion of that process.

Sincerely,
