Issue Position: Securing Public Safety

Issue Position

With a 45% increase in the use of guns in robberies on Oahu and the recent violent home invasion of a Pālolo Valley home, I am deeply concerned about crime in District 20 and Hawaiʻi. I will support legislation that will close loopholes in gun lending, help establish and support existing neighborhood security watches, and will work closely with city council to ensure HPD funding is a higher priority. Families should feel safe using public transportation, walking the neighborhood, and visiting beaches.
