PRO LIFE. I am unapologetically Pro Life except in complex circumstances. I do not support late term abortion or post birth abortion. I firmly believe that life is God given, begins at conception and is a precious thing to be guarded and protected. PRO GUN. The Second Amendment of the United States Constitution protects the individual's right to keep and bear arms and I am committed to upholding our rights as outlined in the Bill of Rights. I support South Dakota's concealed carry policy. STATE BUDGETS. Coming from a corporate background and managing a business I understand the budgetary process and will work to ensure that our state continues to submit a balanced budget every year. SCHOOL FUNDING. Our children are our most precious asset. South Dakota has a high rural population and there needs to be a shift or an adjustment to help fund our rural schools and create a level playing field with other larger communities. Due to the loss of tax revenue caused by the pandemic, we have to think outside of the box. A good example of this is how The National Rural Education Association pointed out that, "some states have aided small population school districts by creating a special funding stipend based on school population and need. THE TRADES. In District 30 and across South Dakota, we are in need of a skilled workforce. I'd like to encourage more partnerships between education and business to create youth apprenticeships and career pathways to build a stronger workforce and equip students with workplace skills. WORKFORCE. I know first hand the impact of internet speed on our businesses. I support Governor Noem's imitative to bring high-speed internet throughout South Dakota. By increasing our digital presence it will help businesses, schools, churches and community organizations better connect with customers and members to successfully work remotely with anyone, anywhere around the world while living in our communities and enjoying the quality of life that the Black Hills has to offer.
