U.S Senator Brian Schatz (D-Hawai"i) released the following statement today:

"My staff and I are safe and following the guidance of U.S. Capitol Police. We thank everyone for their expressions of aloha and concern.

"The attack on the Capitol and our democracy is despicable, but it will not stop us from completing our constitutional duties and affirming the results of the presidential election."
