Luetkemeyer on Today's Celebration of Life

Statement

Date: Jan. 29, 2021
Location: Washington, DC

Today, Congressman Blaine Luetkemeyer (MO-03) released the following statement regarding the importance of protecting the unborn and sanctity of human life.

"Every January since 1974, Americans have come together for a celebration of life and to give a voice to the voiceless. As a member of Congress, it is my job to protect the unborn and one I take very seriously. Along with my bill, the Protecting Life and Integrity in Research Act, I have supported countless bills and causes to end the immoral act of abortion. Our most vulnerable population, the unborn, will always need a voice, and I am extremely proud of everyone who lends theirs to this most important cause."

Background:
The Protecting Life and Integrity in Research Act will prohibit the Secretary of Health and Human Services, who authorizes National Institutes of Health research, from conducting or supporting any research involving human fetal tissue that is obtained pursuant to an induced abortion. This prohibition will not prevent research on stillbirth and miscarriage tissue.
