For Country Caucus Statement on NDAA

Statement

Date: Dec. 11, 2020
Location: Washington, DC
Issues: Defense

On Tuesday, For Country Caucus Chairs U.S. Reps. Jimmy Panetta (D-Calif.) and Don Bacon (R-Neb.) issued the following statement urging the president to sign the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) for Fiscal Year 2021. The House and Senate both adopted the bipartisan final NDAA conference report.

"As members of the bipartisan For Country Caucus, comprised of veterans who have served in our nation's military, we call on the president to sign the NDAA before the end of the 116th Congress. Our government has a Constitutional responsibility to ensure that our national defense is funded and that the men and women in uniform have the resources they need to keep our country safe. For decades, Congress and the executive branch of the United States have consistently worked in a bipartisan manner to write, pass, and sign the annual NDAA into law and this year should be no different."
