Congressman Adrian Smith (R-NE) has been selected to continue as Ranking Republican on the House Ways and Means Committee's Subcommittee on Select Revenue Measures for the 117th Congress. The subcommittee has jurisdiction over federal tax legislation and the Internal Revenue Code. Smith released the below statement after Rep. Kevin Brady (R-TX), the Republican Leader for the Ways and Means Committee, announced his leadership role.

"America's economy reached record heights thanks to the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act. I look forward to continuing my work with Ranking Member Brady and all my Ways and Means colleagues to defend left-wing attacks against this historic tax relief for all Americans as we continue the important work of reopening and rebuilding our economy," said Rep. Smith.

"Our caucus is ready to stop radical ideas that kill jobs and fight for policies that lift up all Americans. With Adrian Smith as Republican leader of our subcommittee on Select Revenue Measures, we will crush this virus and help workers, families, and small businesses rebuild the greatest economy in world history," said Leader Brady.

Smith will also continue to serve on the Ways and Means Subcommittee on Health, which has jurisdiction over Medicare.
