U.S. Representative Brenda L. Lawrence (MI-14), a 30-year veteran of the United States Postal Service (USPS), praised President Joe Biden following his announcement of three nominees to join the USPS Board of Governors. During yesterday's House Oversight and Reform Committee hearing on Postal Reform legislation, Rep. Lawrence called for the package to include robust service standards accountability.

"I applaud President Biden for nominating these outstanding individuals to fill the USPS Board of Governors. After a lack of accountability over Postmaster General DeJoy and nationwide delivery delays over the last year, this is a critical first step to ensure the Postal Service has the leadership it needs," said Rep. Lawrence. "These nominees will bring much-needed diversity, fresh thinking, and new voices to navigate the various issues facing the agency. Amid this unprecedented pandemic and challenging period, their collective knowledge and understanding of the Postal Service are needed now more than ever. I look forward to seeing these appointments getting confirmed swiftly so that we can return trust and confidence in the Postal Service."

The Nominees include:

Ron Stroman: former Deputy Postmaster General

Anton Hajjar: former general counsel of the American Postal Workers Union, AFL-CIO

Amber McReynolds: CEO of the National Vote at Home Institute and Coalition
