Today, Rep. John B. Larson (CT-01) voted for legislation to ensure LGBTQ+ Americans are guaranteed full protections under the law.

"LGBTQ+ Americans still face discrimination based on sexual orientation or gender identity in housing, education, and employment," said Larson.

"These Americans deserve to enjoy the same rights and protections as all other Americans. We will not have full equality in this country until every LGTBTQ+ person can live their lives free from fear or discrimination. That's why I'm proud to support the Equality Act and to fight for a future where every LGBTQ+ person is equal in the eyes of the law."

The Equality Act amends federal civil rights laws to prohibit discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation and gender identity in employment, education, housing, credit, jury service, public accommodations, and federal funding.
