Reaction to Senate Impeachment Vote on Donald Trump

U.S. Representative Lloyd Doggett (D-TX) released the following statement in reaction to today's vote in the Senate impeachment trial of former President Trump for inciting insurrection:
"This was a strong, bipartisan, majority Senate vote condemning Trump's seditious, deadly assault on our Capitol and attempt to overthrow the government. With impeachment conviction always dependent upon the very Republican Senators who have enabled so much Trump wrongdoing, we now look to the criminal justice system for further accountability. Let's join together, fully engaged, to protect and enhance the very democracy that we have come so terribly close to losing."
