Statement

Date: Jan. 1, 2021
Location: Washington, DC
Issues: Defense

U.S. Senator Kevin Cramer (R-ND), a Senate Armed Services Committee (SASC) member, issued the following statement after Congress voted to override President Donald J. Trump's veto of the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA):

"The NDAA fulfills the federal government's most foundational obligation of providing for the defense of our nation. It strengthens our military, supports our troops, enhances national security, and contains several North Dakota priorities. This bill is far too important to let it fail. President Trump is right, Section 230 is in serious need of reform. While this was not the appropriate avenue for it, I look forward to tackling this issue in the next Congress."

Senator Cramer helped write the NDAA through his seat on SASC and outlined its benefits for North Dakota and the nation when it passed in December. Learn more here.
