Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi Votes In Favor Of The American Rescue Plan Act Of 2021 After Spearheading Inclusion Of State And Local Aid Funding

Press Release

Today, Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi, who chairs the House Oversight Subcommittee on Economic and Consumer Policy, voted in favor of the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021, which implements President Biden's urgently-needed American Rescue Plan and includes state and local aid funding which the Congressman ushered through the Oversight Committee. The legislation passed by the House today addresses the unprecedented coronavirus public health and economic crises while helping to ensure vaccines reach the American public, children return safely to the classroom, more stimulus checks go out, and the country gets back to work.

"The stimulus package the House passed last night will set America on the road to recovery and equip President Biden with the tools he needs to build our country back better," said Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi. "I was proud to champion the inclusion of the crucially-needed state and local aid in this package because supporting our communities, like making American families and small businesses whole again, is not a partisan issue. I strongly urge the Senate to pass this bill as soon as possible so we can let the American people know that help is on the way."
