Location: Rhinebeck, NY

Today, U.S. Representative Antonio Delgado (NY-19) announced a federal investment of more than $6.8 million for Head Start and Early Head Start Programs in New York's 19th Congressional District. The investment will support early education and development services in Dutchess, Ulster, and Schoharie counties.

"I am proud to announce an over $6.8 million investment in NY-19 Head Start programs," said Rep. Delgado. "As a father, I know how important childcare and early education access are in upstate. Head Start gives every child the opportunity to access quality education and sets millions of our youngest up for success. Head Start programs are essential, and I will keep working to secure additional funding for our children and communities."

Head Start and Early Head Start programs provide comprehensive child development programs for children from birth to age five, pregnant women, and families. The programs focus on preparing children for school. On December 21, 2020, Rep. Delgado voted to pass H.R. 133, the Consolidated Appropriations Act, which included $10.7 billion in federal funding for Head Start, an increase of $135 million.
