U.S. Senators Bob Menendez and Cory Booker today announced the awarding of $30,149,115 in federal funding from the U.S. Department of Health and Humans Services (HHS) to support several Head Start early childhood education programs across New Jersey.
"Every family, regardless of their income or zip code, deserves access to affordable child care and early education," said Sen. Menendez. "Because of Head Start programs such as these, more children will have access to the resources and tools they need and deserve to achieve their full potential in life, while giving women a greater opportunity to remain or reenter the workforce to provide for their family."
"Quality early education programs like Head Start are the key to cultivating the skills children need to ensure future success," said Sen. Booker. "In New Jersey, Head Start programs have provided engaging opportunities for our youngest students to create, learn, and explore. This federal funding will help provide students the tools they need to reach their full potential and succeed well into the future."
