"Since the start of the 117th Congress, the House passed historic legislation to remove the arbitrary deadline for ratifying the Equal Rights Amendment and introduced the Paycheck Fairness Act. While we've made significant progress in the fight for gender equality, we know there is so much more work that needs to be done," said Rep. Lawrence. "In honor of the women whose shoulders I stand on--and the young women and girls who will stand on mine--I'm proud to introduce this resolution to reaffirm our commitment to gender equality. I'll continue to work to ensure that all women and men are treated equally under the law and that they are endowed with unalienable rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness."

Original cosponsors of the resolution include Jackie Speier (CA-14), Madeleine Dean (PA-04), and Val Demings (FL-10).
