Congressman Jeff Van Drew Statement on Attempts to Pack Supreme Court with Activists

Statement

Like a child changing the rules of the game when it is not going their way, this scheme to increase Supreme Court justices is just another example of the undermining of the foundations that have kept America balanced and protected. This is only motivated by a dangerous political agenda and not what is best for this nation. I hope everyone will wake up to how scary this is for our future and I hope this legislation fails miserably as it would end the Republic as we know it.

To quote Ruth Bader Ginsburg: "If anything would make the court appear partisan it would be that," she said. "One side saying when we're in power we're going to enlarge the number of judges so we'll have more people who will vote the way we want them to. So I am not at all in favor of that solution to what I see as a temporary situation."
