Rep. Sharice Davids Announces $6.4 Million in Funding for Local Health Centers

Today, Representative Sharice Davids announced that two Community Health Centers in the Kansas Third will receive a total of over $6.4 million in American Rescue Plan funds to expand their COVID-19 vaccine, testing, and treatment operations for vulnerable populations.

The federal community health centers receiving funds in Kansas' Third District are:

Health Partnership Clinic, Inc: $3,553,750
Turner House Clinic, Inc: $2,904,000

"Community health centers play a vital role in providing health care and services to Kansans, especially during this pandemic. I was proud to help secure this critical funding from the American Rescue Plan, which will give these local clinics the resources necessary to expand access to the COVID-19 vaccine and extend their services to even more folks in our community," said Davids.

"The funding from the American Rescue Plan is going to have a significant impact on our ability to address the inequities in health care that exist in our community. We will be able to build on our current services and expand to additional ways to help our patients," said Patrick Sallee, CEO of Vibrant Health, which oversees the Turner House Clinic.

"We are very grateful to receive funding through the American Rescue Plan given the dramatic impact COVID-19 Pandemic has had on our patient revenue. The additional funding to our clinic will help us continue to address the COVID-19 pandemic and provide primary care, including medical, dental and behavioral health, to the communities we serve. Our clinic will now be in a strong position to invest in projects and initiatives that will expand and enhance health services--ensuring long-lasting benefits to our patients. With the number of uninsured patients growing, ongoing support will continue to be a need," said Amy Falk, CEO of Health Partnership Clinic.

Davids recently visited the Health Partnership Clinic as part of her "American Rescue Plan Tour' to highlight the relief that the Plan is bringing to Kansas, as well how the plan would help Kansas expand Medicaid.
