Kildee, Stabenow Statement on Efforts to Unionize Workers at Battery Manufacturing Facilities in the U.S.

Statement

Congressman Dan Kildee (MI-05), Chief Deputy Whip of the House Democratic Caucus, and U.S. Senator Debbie Stabenow (D-MI), issued the following statement about efforts by the United Auto Workers to organize employees at two U.S. electric vehicle battery factories being built in Ohio and Tennessee:
"We support and applaud yesterday's statement from General Motors and Ultium Cells LLC announcing support to unionize workers at their joint facilities. General Motors is a great American company and they know the importance of union workers to their success. We applaud their work creating good-paying union jobs in America. Electric vehicles are the future of the automotive industry and America has the best auto workers in the world. As leaders in Congress working to expand electric vehicle and battery production, we are working to ensure these jobs are created at home. Congratulations to everyone involved in this important announcement."
