Proclamation - Engineers Week

WHEREAS, engineers have defined some of our most spectacular achievements, from moon landings to magnificent bridges, and each day, they help define our lives in more routine ways, from the cars we drive and computers we use to the medicines we take and the clean water we drink; and

WHEREAS, North Dakota's economy is growing, and engineers have been and continue to be instrumental in supporting that growth with their scientific and technical knowledge and skills; and

WHEREAS, engineers are encouraging our young math and science students to realize the practical power of their knowledge and to pursue careers in engineering; and

WHEREAS, the vision and expertise of our engineers play an essential role in helping to meet the challenges and capitalize on the opportunities for continued growth in North Dakota's future.

NOW, THEREFORE, as Governor of the State of North Dakota, I do hereby proclaim February 19-25, 2006, ENGINEERS WEEK in the state of North Dakota.
