Location: Washington, DC

Congressman Brett Guthrie (KY-02) announced a $60,650 grant for the Shepherdsville Fire Department.

"I'm thrilled the Shepherdsville Fire Department is receiving more than $60,000 to help improve response capabilities and better protect firefighters' health from harmful vehicle exhaust emissions. Funds from this grant will be used to purchase a vehicle exhaust system to allow their fire trucks to run in their enclosed bays prior to leaving for an emergency call. This is a valuable investment for the firefighters that serve and protect the community," said Guthrie.

Guthrie supported a bill that authorized funding for this grant. This federal grant is part of the Federal Emergency Management Agency's (FEMA) AFG program.
