CHARLOTTE -- Congresswoman Alma S. Adams, Ph.D. released the following statement on the bomb threat at the United States Capitol:
"It is a blessing that today's standoff ended without violence. Our Capitol Police are to be commended for ending the situation peacefully, and I am thankful that they continue to come to work to protect democracy from attacks by violent extremists. Our entire office is safe and continuing to work for the people of the 12th Congressional District."
