Dr. Joyce Announces Gettysburg College Will Receive a Grant from the National Science Foundation

Today, Congressman John Joyce M.D. (PA-13) announced that Gettysburg College would receive a collaborative research grant for $239,580.00 from the National Science Foundation to fund research into speech to text software.

"The exciting research being done at Gettysburg College will have broad implications in education, medicine, and technology," said Dr. Joyce. "By pushing the boundaries of what is currently possible in natural language processing, Gettysburg researchers will work with state-of-the-art-technology to find new solutions that advance communications in all walks of life."

This grant funding will go towards enhancing both theoretical and practical research in speech to text platforms that are increasingly relied on for use in medical offices, as well as in the artificial intelligence used in hands free driving, and virtual assistants.
