McConnell and Rogers Announce $500,000 for Water Improvements in Lincoln County

U.S. Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) and Congressman Hal Rogers (KY-05) announced today the Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC) will award $500,000 to the McKinney Water District in Lincoln County. This grant will provide funding for the installation of 65,475 linear feet of waterline and a new 300,000-gallon water storage tank.

The federal funds come from an Appalachian Regional Commission infrastructure program established by Senator McConnell to devote resources to distressed counties throughout Central Appalachia. These communities have received over $60 million from this ARC fund.

"Throughout my time in the Senate, I've been proud to work alongside my friend Congressman Rogers to help provide Kentuckians with the clean and accessible water services they deserve. With today's grant announcement, we are taking an important stride toward that goal," said Senator McConnell. "The additional water infrastructure funds provided by ARC have been instrumental in our efforts to help develop Kentucky's Appalachian communities. I look forward to continuing to work within Congress to provide the resources needed to enhance Kentucky's water services for years to come."
