Bacon Votes for Bipartisan Infrastructure Bill

Date: Nov. 5, 2021
Location: Washington, DC

Rep. Don Bacon (NE-02) today released the following statement after voting for the bipartisan, hard infrastructure bill:

"For months, I have expressed my support for the hard infrastructure bill that is supported by 70 percent of our district. Senators Fischer and Grassley also voted for this bipartisan bill which will fix our highways, seaports, and locks, and will provide more access to rural broadband. Further, most of the hard infrastructure bill is paid for by unspent COVID money that was already appropriated by Congress. This bill makes our nation stronger and more competitive for years to come.

"Make no mistake. This is not the Bernie Sanders' Socialist Budget Busting Bill, which would've cost American taxpayers their hard-earned money. When that bill does come to the floor for a vote, I will be a hard "NO.' Congress holds the purse, and we owe it to our constituents to remain fiscally conservative with our federal spending. They are the ones who will pick up the tab, and I believe they deserve better."
