Rep. Kay Granger (R-TX), Republican Leader of the House Appropriations Committee, issued the following statement after voting against legislation to raise the debt ceiling by $2.5 trillion:

"I have consistently opposed Democrats' efforts to raise the debt ceiling while they push for trillions in new spending on their socialist agenda," said Congresswoman Kay Granger. "The best way to protect our Nation's "full faith and credit' is to stop this reckless spending spree and get our fiscal house in order."
