DAVIDS STATEMENT ON STATUS OF BUILD BACK BETTER ACT NEGOTIATIONS

Statement

Date: Dec. 19, 2021
Location: Washington, DC

Representative Sharice Davids issued the following statement on the status of Build Back Better Act negotiations:

"We have been working for months to take action on the biggest issues facing Kansans--capping prescription drug costs, expanding Medicaid, addressing climate change, delivering tax cuts for the middle class--and paying for it by finally making the tax code fair for working folks. There were compromises and changes as we did the hard (and not always pretty) work of legislating. That progress is meaningful, and it has not disappeared or lessened. Our work continues.

Throughout it all, I have never stopped fighting for policies that will make a real, positive difference in our community. From delivering the Child Tax Credit, to capping costs on insulin at $35 a month, to expanding health care coverage to 160,000 Kansans, I am working to make life more affordable for Kansas families. My focus has not been swayed, and I will continue pushing towards those goals."
