Scalise: Democrats' Sham Subcommittee Politicizes the Pandemic

Today, House Republican Whip and Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Crisis Ranking Member Steve Scalise (R-La.) blasted the Select Subcommittee Democrats' latest report:

"The report released today underscores the recurring theme by big-government socialists: Democrats created their sham subcommittee to politicize the pandemic. All of the crises hurting hard-working families demand accountability from the Biden Administration, but Washington Democrats are only interested in their constant obsession with former President Trump. President Biden promised to "shut down the virus,' but more Americans have died this year from COVID than the previous year. He promised to follow the science, but he allowed union bosses to dictate policy that tags parents as domestic terrorists and effectively keeps schools shuttered. President Biden threatens millions of Americans' livelihoods through authoritarian vaccine mandates that would cause them to get fired, but he allows COVID-positive, unvaccinated illegal immigrants to be released into our communities. More evidence continues to mount showing COVID-19 escaped the Wuhan lab, but Democrats refuse to examine hold hearings on the origin of COVID and start holding China accountable.

"With the second year of the Biden Administration approaching, it's past time for Democrats to conduct legitimate oversight and hold the current administration accountable for their failures that are driving inflation and causing costs to increase on hard-working families."
