Congressman Harris issued the following statement after voting no on the Build Back Better Act:

"This morning, I joined the bipartisan opposition to the Democrats' socialist $4 trillion spending spree that includes the largest tax increase in American history, which will also add $367 billion to our national debt, according to the official Congressional Budget Office scoring.

At a time when inflation is out of control, gas prices are at record highs, our national debt is on the verge of eclipsing $30 trillion, and our Southern border is overrun, we shouldn't be passing these reckless spending bills. Measures like this will make inflation worse, further raise gas and heating oil prices, bolster our national debt, incentivize illegal immigration, do nothing to address record opioid deaths, and fail to fund law enforcement. Instead, sadly the majority just continues to bankrupt the country and push policies rejected by voters in recent elections in Virginia and New Jersey."
