Rep. Stephanie Bice released the following statement after the U.S. House of Representatives passed S.J. Res 33. Bice voted against the measure.

"Today represents the third time this year House Democrats have voted to raise the debt ceiling, this time by $2.5 trillion and extending it through 2023. In doing so, Democrats bypassed longstanding rules of the U.S. Senate to pave the way to advance their multi-Trillion dollar social spending spree. Furthermore, this debt limit legislation makes no reforms to constrain future spending or to address the $29 trillion in federal debt we already have.

This is the largest dollar increase to the debt ceiling in history and I will not play a part in the Democrats' spending scheme. Americans are being hit hard by inflation this holiday season, with prices for even basic necessities through the roof. With passage of this debt limit increase, Democrats will continue to move forward and spend even more of taxpayers' money, making this inflation crisis worse."
