Armstrong Statement on Biden Administration's Proposed Revival of WOTUS

Statement

Date: Nov. 18, 2021
Location: Washington, DC
Issues: Environment

Today, Congressman Kelly Armstrong (R-ND) released the following statement after the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and U.S. Department of the Army announced a proposed rule to re-establish the pre-2015 definition of "waters of the United States" (WOTUS). This rule would repeal the Trump administration's Navigable Waters Protection Rule (NWPR).

"The Obama era Waters of the United States rule would have been a disaster for North Dakota's farmers and ranchers," said Congressman Armstrong. "Now, the Biden administration is trying to revive this failed one-size-fits-all policy that will destroy their livelihoods and decimate our rural communities. I will continue to advocate for policies that work with states, not against them, to achieve environmental progress."
