U.S. Senator Deb Fischer (R-Neb.) released the following statement today after learning that the U.S. Supreme Court blocked President Biden's vaccine mandate on private businesses with 100 or more employees:

"Today the Supreme Court confirmed that Biden's private sector vaccine mandate is an overreach of federal authority. From the beginning, I've been concerned about this divisive mandate and the harm it would do to businesses and employees. I signed a brief urging the Court to make this decision, and I'm pleased it blocked the administration from enforcing this damaging policy."

Once the Supreme Court agreed to hear the case, Senator Fischer joined many of her Republican colleagues in submitting an amicus brief to the Court in favor of preventing the mandate from taking effect. She also joined all 50 Republican Senators and two Democrat Senators in voting to overturn this mandate and was a cosponsor of the measure.
