On January 29, 2022, Congressman Vicente Gonzalez (TX-15) announced the nomination of 16 students from the 15th Congressional District of Texas to attend the U.S. Service Academies. The academies consist of the: U.S. Military Academy in West Point, NY (West Point); U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, CO; U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, MD; and U.S. Merchant Marine Academy in Kings Point, NY.

"These students embody the very values that our military holds in high regard," stated Congressman Gonzalez. "I am excited and honored to nominate these outstanding young people who are eager serve and protect our nation. It is a privilege to represent them in Congress and I look forward to the great work they will do in the U.S. military and for our community."
