Congressman Dan Kildee released the following statement after the U.S. Senate voted to confirm distinguished Michigan State University professor Dr. Lisa D. Cook to the Federal Reserve's Board of Governors:
"Dr. Cook is an outstanding, highly qualified addition to the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve, and I applaud her historic confirmation as the first Black woman to join the Board of Governors. The Federal Reserve plays a key role in fighting inflation and lowering costs for families. Dr. Cook's wealth of academic and experience as an economist will help the Federal Reserve continue our economic job growth. I congratulate her on her confirmation by the U.S. Senate."
