Today, U.S. Representative Melanie Stansbury (NM-01) issued the following statement celebrating the Senate's vote to confirm Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson to the Supreme Court:
"Throughout her confirmation process, Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson showed the nation her passion, determination, and heart, and her commitment to equal justice under the law.During her confirmation Judge Jackson's breadth of knowledge, qualifications, and experience have been full display. After 232 years, it is long past due to confirm our nation's first Black woman as Justice of the Supreme Court. I'm proud to support the historic confirmation of Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson and look forward to seeing her on the bench."
