Senators Stabenow and Peters Announce Funding for Infrastructure Improvements at Cherry Capital Airport

U U.S. Debbie Stabenow (MI) and Gary Peters (MI) announced today that the Department of Transportation (DOT) will be awarding Cherry Capital Airport $2,595,411 in funding to remove non-hazard access road and apron obstructions to meet Federal Aviation Administration (FFA) standards. These funds are from the FAA grant program.

"Having reliable and safe air service is crucial for tourism, commerce, and economic development," said Senator Stabenow. "This grant is an important investment in the infrastructure of our airports and will help our communities rebound from the pandemic."

"Airports play a critical role in boosting Michigan's economy by connecting communities and businesses to important destinations and resources," said Senator Peters. "This federal support will ensure that Cherry Capital Airport can continue helping to transport travelers safely and efficiently for years to come."
