Today, Congressman Chris Pappas (NH-01) helped pass bipartisan legislation to speed the delivery of needed weapons systems to Ukraine, and enhance existing lend-lease authorities. This bill will ensure that shipments of urgently needed weapons systems, ammunition, and military assistance in other forms arrive in Ukrainian hands faster and more seamlessly.

"I have continuously said that we should be taking every step possible to support Ukraine and punish Putin, and speeding the delivery of weapons systems and military assistance to Ukraine is essential," said Congressman Chris Pappas. "The passage of this legislation will deliver critical support to Ukraine as they defend their sovereignty, and I urge the President to sign it into law swiftly to ensure aid reaches Ukraine as soon as possible."

Pappas previously helped pass bipartisan legislation to revoke free trade privileges from Russia, ban Russian energy imports, and extend U.S. sanctions against violators of human rights and corrupt actors.

Following price spikes as a result of Russia's invasion of Ukraine, Pappas has repeatedly called on the Administration to use every tool available to cut energy costs and bolster supplies, including releasing additional barrels from our strategic reserves, encouraging lease holders to fully utilize existing permits, holding oil companies accountable, and suspending the gas tax to give Granite State families relief.
