Location: Washington, DC
Issues: Infrastructure

Today, U.S. Representative Susan Wild announced $2,770,068.04 in federal funding for Lehigh Valley Health Network (LVHN) from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security's Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). This funding helps to offset some of the extraordinary costs incurred of the COVID-19 emergency response and protective measures put in place by the hospital network at the beginning of the pandemic.

"Over the past two years, LVHN has gone above and beyond to protect and care for the Lehigh Valley," said Rep. Wild. "When COVID-19 first threatened our community's health and safety, LVHN sprang into action to ensure our neighbors were provided with the newest mitigation and prevention guidance. I'm proud my office worked closely with LVHN to help secure this federal funding."

"LVHN is very grateful to Congresswoman Wild and the federal government for making these funds available to help offset some of the extraordinary costs incurred and recognizing COVID as a national disaster eligible for FEMA funds," said Brian A. Nester, DO, MBA, President and CEO, LVHN.

The FEMA grant covers some of the costs incurred from March 1, 2020, to September 30, 2020 related to a multimedia campaign communicating guidance for the public regarding COVID-19 vaccines, boosters, testing, treatment, therapies, and prevention.
